Kimberley Boab Trees

AUSTRALIAN
BOAB TREES

The Kimberley in remote North Western Australia is the home of the Australian Boab Trees.
This tree originally from Africa has made its way to the shores of Australia with The Kimberley being the epi-centre for them.
They stretch as far inland as Central Northern Territory but are only occasionally seen and are in small numbers.
The numbers of trees slowly increase as you move closer to The Kimberley.
They are a slow growing tree with their unique bottle shaped trunk, giving them their other name of a Bottle Tree.
We have seen many with a few dated at over 1000 years old.
