WELCOME TO THE ADVENTURES
OF PAUL & LISA HOGGER ON
OUR SAILING YACHT LORELEI

We have now finished our second Sailing
 Adventure.

A HUGE Thank-You to everyone who followed us on our Sailing Adventure
through our blog posts and photos.
It made all the effort worthwhile.....

-        -- Visited 22 Countries in the Sth Pacific, Nth Pacific and Asia
-        -- Visited 5 States/Territories of Australia
-        -- Over 90 stamps and stickers were added into our passports
-        -- There was 2200 hours running time on Lorelei’s new 150hp John  Deere main engine
-        -- Lorelei used approx. 11 250 litres of diesel

-        -- Over 52 500 litres of fresh water was made from Lorelei’s desalination system

Our Blog Stats:
-- Our most popular blog post is Episode 23 Yap in Micronesia which has over 2600 views and twice as many as the next most popular post
-- Our other most popular posts (in order) are Episode 15 The Marshall Islands, Episode 22 Pohnpei in Micronesia, Episode 14, The Kiribati and Episode 16 Kosrae in Micronesia.  Ironically, all these locations are in the Northern Hemisphere
-- We've had over 116 000 page views on our Blog with the highest month having over 6000 page views
-- We posted 63 Episodes of our Adventure which roughly equated to one post each month.

Our Photography Stats:
-- During the trip we took a staggering 890 000 photos from 16 different camera systems - mainly Nikon DSLR's (for both above and below water) and Contour Cameras (Go Pro equivalents) that we used for sporting activities.
-- It sounds a lot of photos but consider attaching a Contour camera to your kiteboarding kite, set it for one image a second and let it run for 2.5 hours - you do the math....
-- Of those 16 cameras (or Nikon camera bodies) 9 died on the way and we broke/wore out 4 Nikon lenses as well.-- Of the 890 000 photos, we only kept approx. 50 000 and posted approx. 12 500 onto our blog

But don’t fret – our sailing adventures are not over forever…..

We are currently working towards and planning our next sailing adventure on board Lorelei which will be the biggest one ever!!
However it’s going to take a long time to get there.
But we are currently working towards it, saving hard and planning the adventure.
Additionally Lorelei will require some major modifications which will convert her from her current set up as a tropical sailing yacht to a vessel that will take us to higher latitudes and cope with significantly colder temperatures, ice, and extreme sailing conditions.…
We are also going to update our Camera systems for both above and below the water and invest in a high quality drone for even better images.

SO STAY TUNED!!!

PAUL AND LISA
